Planning to eat out in Kentish Town

Published: 11 February, 2011

• RE the possible closure of ITTA pizzas because of planning problems (Pizza boss burned by cooking regulations, February 3) – sorry Caroline Hill, of Kentish Town Road Action Group, it won’t wash.

There are two sorts of eateries in KT Road:  the expensive and the modest. The expensive ones are lovely if you are having a special occasion and you have loads of dosh – dead pricey: about £20 for one person. The modest ones will do you an evening meal for about six or seven quid.

If ITTA goes, then people on low income are back to kebabs, and double egg and chips, and hamburgers, also lovely from time to time, but not a good idea healthwise.

Euro-Med was fantastic in its range of inexpensive meals of good quality. ITTA’s pizzas are pretty healthy too. So, when ITTA goes, with its wonderful wheelchair/pushchair access, what we are saying is the people on a low income, and there are many in Kentish Town, can continue to eat tasty but unhealthy food.

Afraid of some big group arriving?

Loads of people will join you, Caroline, in a campaign when they try to get in (er, why would they when we already have Nando’s, McDonald’s and Pret A Manger?)
