Offline and ignored

Published: 17 February, 2011

• AFTER some 18 months, I have now finally given up writing polite/concise letters to the council and getting no response.

Question: “What do I have to do to get a reply?” Answer: “Have an email address, of course.”

Currently there are 10 million adults in the UK who are for various reasons “computer-illiterate” – that is a sizeable part of the population. But what does it take to pick up the phone just to say: “Thank you – the points you raise are being looked into”?

Do the council need to be reminded that the “excluded” pay council tax?
