Let police investigate

Published: 3 February, 2011

• WHEN it comes to allegations of fraud, the issue of whether they are investigated by accountancy firm PwC or Homes for Islington (HfI) is a red herring. Certainly, PwC should be investigating HfI’s incompetence, but the only appropriate body for the fraud investigation is the police. Anything less looks like a disgraceful cover-up.

I would urge the council to ask police to intervene as soon as possible. The situation as it stands is scandalous and is by now well known to large numbers of residents.

The council is falling into serious disrepute over the issue.
