Joan Stally helped those far away

• THE passing of Joan Stally was indeed very sad – besides her considerable activities for local causes she also had a great interest in peoples far away.

You make reference to her work in Africa; this gave her a great interest in world affairs particularly in the many humanitarian problems across the globe. She showed this by her longstanding support for the United Nations Association. Joan had been secretary of UNA Hampstead Branch for very many years. 

She also worked with great energy at the national headquarters of UNA-UK until a few years ago. Joan will be sorely missed.
