With higher rents, how many families will be asked to leave?
Published: 24 February, 2011
• WITH Local Housing Allowance claims made from April 2011: capped rates will apply immediately.
Settled Camden families whose tenancies, in privately rented accommodation, expire on or after April 1 are being advised to move out – right now.
In just one Camden school classroom of approximately 23 children, I discovered two immediately affected families.
With reduced LHA and landlords raising their rents, just how many families living with us, as valued, contributing members of our thriving, vibrant little society that is Camden Town, will be asked to leave?
Do we all just want to stand by and “let market forces rule” or do we value the creative fusion of difference and diversity that is Camden now the thriving and vibrant place it is?
Anyone want to do anything about it?
