Care before rebranding

• WE are told there will be no “significant” cost to the rebranding exercise changing the Whittington Hospital to “Whittington Health” (Rebrand: But cat is safe, February 18).
In these times of belt-tightening there should be no cost involved. What does it matter that signs still read “The Whittington Hospital” – that’s what we will all continue to refer to it as. When the last sheet of old notepaper has been used up, change the letterhead then.
The money should be spent on patient care not on rebranding. I thought this was exactly the kind of waste the government was going to stop.

• FIRST, Rachel Tyndall, boss of North Central London, and now Rob Larkman, chief executive of Whittington Hospital (Hospital boss quits top job in shock move, February 18). There is a pattern. No doubt they will pop up in positions with even greater salaries. That is the real tragedy with the NHS.
I fear for the Black Cat.
