Attacking Electric Proms

Published: 24 February, 2011

• IT is deeply regrettable that the BBC has scrapped the Electric Proms.

They have been excellent, and I’ve been lucky enough to see a few including The Streets at the Roundhouse. Cutting them is just one of a number of moves the BBC is making to appeal to the Tory government – the most blatant is appointing a former Tory MP as new chairman. The BBC should not be playing party politics with the live music scene.
