Traffic layout in Russell Square

FURTHER to the letters from Stephen Miller (July 21) and Albert Beale (July 28) about the unsafe conditions for cyclists and pedestrians as a result of the new traffic layout in Russell Square, this is just adding insult to injury.

I have lived near the square since 1998 and, in these 13 years, the traffic layout has been reworked three times, and the result is that the “new” traffic layout now being unveiled is the same as in 1998. Three lots of disruption and massive expense have got us right back where we started. One has to wonder about the abilities of Camden officials to think before spending money.

What a remarkable waste, especially when they claim not to have enough money to keep libraries open.
