No one to look up to?
Published: August 25, 2011
AS an elderly wheelchair-user I have found most young people polite, kind, helpful and yet sadly lacking in hope.
For the young, there is, it seems, little hope for the future.
It’s a fact that their so-called “betters” often seem to be greedy, selfish, on the take and untrustworthy – police, bankers, government, etc – so who should the youngsters look up to or aspire to be?
I don’t condone violence or the way the youth rioted but I can feel a degree of understanding for them. Who should they look up to?
I don’t get about daily, but I had felt the riots brewing for the past 15 months.
