Freud’s poser
Published: August 4, 2011
FIONA Green’s description of how your Review cover photo of Lucian Freud (Waking up with Lucian’s boots beside my bed, July 28) came about doesn’t tally with mine.
The photographer Bruce Bernard’s version to me was that Lucian was making disparaging remarks on how easy it would be to create a Henry Moore sculpture. Then he flung himself on the floor of his studio to prove the point, and Bruce snapped him.
This is what I tell anyone who enquires about my print of it from Bruce.
