The family silver
Published: August 4, 2011
I SEE Councillor Theo Blackwell has come round to the idea that it would be a good idea to sell some of the family silver in order to carry out much-needed improvements and maintenance to Camden’s council housing and infrastructure (Investment challenges for our future, July 28).
Does this give him second thoughts about the campaign the local Labour Party ran before the 2010 council elections?
This vilified and much exaggerated the previous Lib Dem-led administration’s policy of selling some empty council property. Probably not, as it was almost certainly the main reason why voters, especially those who heard alarming tales from canvassers on the doorstep, voted Labour into power.
