Fair terms of employment

Published: August 4, 2011

I’M having a bit of difficulty squaring this circle, any help appreciated.

I have a fixed-term contract with the NHS and at the end of it I will either be offered a new fixed-term contract or they will say thank you and goodbye.

At the end of an MP’s fixed five-year contract, his/her constituents (their employers) will decide by ballot whether to offer that person a new five-year contract.

If they decide to offer that contract to someone else the person who missed out gets a very generous redundancy package and a relocation allowance.

Why? If MP can have that I want it too!
