Camden, north London

Published: August 4, 2011

IN the last few weeks, the national media have been referring to this area where I live as “Camden, North London”.

Camden is the collective name for what was once Holborn, St Pancras and Hampstead boroughs.

This area is rightly known world-wide as Camden Town. But, since the demise of the old London County Council, this area can hardly be said to be in north London. Surely it is more likely to be nearer to the centre?
