Thanks for clean sweep

• YOUR report claims that long-serving street cleaners and rubbish collection workers are being “phased out” in favour of cheaper agency staff. I would like to offer grateful thanks to every street cleaner and rubbish collector I have encountered here in the past 20 years. They do an amazing job, improving all our lives for very little return, and are unfailingly polite, cheerful and efficient.  

They offer one of the best services in the borough, especially those who sweep the streets. They do more than most of us to keep life sweet. Please, Islington Council, ensure they are properly valued.
