Poorer areas need libraries
Published: 7 April, 2011
• FURTHER to the letter from Gerald Holm (Decision time for the future of libraries, March 31), Belsize Library may not have many magazines to read in comparison with Heath Library, but it does have many faithful and regular users, including parents with their young children.
Heath Library is in an affluent area, and has attracted many famous speakers, which is par for the course in Hampstead.
Poorer parts of the borough have a greater need for a library service.
Let the rich buy their own magazines.
Belsize Library must not be closed.
