Out in the cold, we won’t be fuelled again

• THE winter fuel allowance is to be reduced by £50 for pensioners. 

Those over 80 will lose £100. 

But this is not a reduction, insists a spokesperson, just that they won’t pay the temporary “top-up” introduced by Gordon Brown’s Labour government.

When is a reduction not a reduction? When Osborne says so?
