No right to ban party

Published: 14 April, 2011

• I SEE that Camden Council has taken upon itself to ban a “Not the Royal Wedding” party which “Republic” planned to hold in Earlham Street.

Surely this is a political decision made by Camden without any mandate from the public and it should be rescinded.

Also even the BBC was compelled to comment on Radio 4 news on Tuesday on the creation of absurd non- jobs such as “healthy walks advisory officer” and others in similar vein.

Is this the sort of thing that the hard-pressed council taxpayers are expected to stump up for?

What does Camden’s grossly overpaid chief executive Moira Gibb have to say about this kind of ludicrous, irresponsible waste of our money?

One wonders if she has any idea of what is going on in her own organisation.
