My protest over band

• A TREAT for Echo and the Bunnymen fans this Saturday when frontman Ian McCulloch will play in Islington.
Though fans would not be surprised to know that Echo and the Bunnymen will not be in England for the royal wedding, they would be shocked to learn of their choice of bolt-hole. After Islington, their next gig is Tel Aviv on April 29.
Unlike Echo and the Bunnymen, I have made my moral choice and even as a republican would rather watch the royal wedding than play Apartheid Israel.
It’s also sad that Union Chapel is misused by Echo and the Bunnymen, given the outspoken stance of clergyman Desmond Tutu, who called for a boycott of Israel until it dismantled its apartheid.
I will make my voice heard against this betrayal of “Love Music Hate Racism” at 6pm this Saturday outside the Union Chapel. Join me.
