Long wait for a bill
• I AM a leaseholder about to go to the Leaseholders Valuation Tribunal to challenge Islington Council on the grounds of “lack of transparency” in regard to Homes for Islington’s appalling billing procedure.
For the past two years I have been paying, on an estimated invoice, a £28,000 bill for “Decent Homes Works”, at a rate of £500 per month for work which was finalised in 2006.
However, although I have requested an invoice and bill, and been promised such on more than one occasion I have yet to receive from HfI either a detailed itemised account of the specific works to my property or a final bill which I could challenge.
I would ask leaseholders who share my experience regarding HfI’s disregard for their legal rights to get in touch with me at the email address below so that we can, if possible, jointly challenge this reprehensible and divisive practice.
