Library’s shelf life

• THE leader of the Labour Group claimed that Charing Cross Library will be closed in his latest campaign to save libraries (A long wait for a book, Letters April 1). 

I say, so what!

Charing Cross Library is mainly books and media in Chinese. Do the Chinese taxpayers provide English books and media in China for the British who live there? No! In addition, Charing Cross Library is used as a sleeping place by the intentionally homeless. 

I have seen the usage of internet in Westminster libraries. Most users watch films or listen to music and are not looking for jobs.
