Let’s value grandparents

• I AM one of the growing number of pensioners who are bringing up grandchildren. 

I began this 20 years ago and it has affected my ability to earn and I am doing it now with an eroding pension. I find myself in the position of parenting and it is a huge financial burden.

We hear of the social problems with the younger generation. Would it not be far better, budget-wise to see us grandparents as the valuable resource we are and fund us rather than abuse us.
