Camping carry on!

Published: 15 April, 2011

• DO those (Anti-cuts protesters set to occupy Trafalgar Square, April 8) taking the action consider they could be wrong in their activities?

Are we now to “enjoy” sporadic outbursts of “camping” all over London?

Where next? Marble Arch, Sloane Square, Ladbroke Grove? Hopefully not directly outside my house or anyone else’s come to that. Is there no end in sight to this entertainment? Do they intend to camp wherever takes their fancy?

Is this to be the nature of protest in the 21st century? One does wonder how they all find the time to devote to these activities.

What about work or study? It must be indeed difficult to fit it all in. Talk about dedication.!

Those involved are fortunate to use the democratic system to suit themselves while others less fortunate spend most of their time at work and paying taxes.

Do they consider who must clean up after they have departed from the scene of battle?

Or indeed the expense?

And why should we all be deprived of the use and enjoyment of public places for such time?

Perhaps these protesters should be charged rent for their occupation of public areas.
