Alarming

• NEWS that another “stopping-up” order in Camden is causing concern (Church car park is ‘taken over’, April 21) is alarming. 

Grove Terrace has joined Dalby Street as another road of uncertainty. It is to be hoped the council clarifies issues of cleanliness, ease and safety of public access and public liability insurance before they consider surrendering any more roads to private agencies. Experience indicates that snuffing out ancient routes is a retrograde activity with hazards Town Hall lawyers need to understand better. 

At least at Dalby Street the Town Hall is demanding two full-time marshals be employed to try and make the takeover work.
