Peter did us proud

• ROUGH sleeper Peter Pickles, who has just turned 60, undertook a sponsored 70-mile walk from Islington to Dymchurch in Kent to raise funds and awareness of the work our charity, Kings Corner Project, does with young people in the borough.
Having been cheered on his way from our office last Wednesday by a group of the young people we work with, Peter battled heavy rain and the resulting ‘trench foot’ to complete the feat on Saturday.
His walk coincided with Dymchurch’s Syn Festival.
In keeping with the festival’s tradition, Peter completed the walk in full 18th century costume.
Based in Old Street, Kings Corner Project provides courses and activities for young people.
By finishing the walk Peter managed to raise about £750.
We are most grateful to Peter and those who have given to the cause, including a generous donation from a reader following last week’s article.
