Go A&E

• YOU report about Camidoc and out-of-hours medical cover (Camidoc goes to law over rejection by NHS, August 26).

If part of the rationale of NHS Camden’s bureaucrats, when planning to hand the contract for our out-of-hours GP cover to a private company, is to save money then they’ve got another think coming.

If I needed a medical consultation at a time when I couldn’t get hold of my GP and the “official” option was to use a profit-making company I would instead go to the nearest  A&E and/or call an ambulance.

If enough of us make clear that we would choose not to use a private company, but would end up clogging up the local A&E instead, maybe that threat of costing them more money might rein in NHS Camden.
