Gentle dog

• WE were shocked to read your story (Heath ‘dog attack’ probed, September 9).

We know the dog in question – a Dogue de Bordeaux; in fact, we often “babysit” him in our home. He likes to watch Disney films with my daughter in her room, and he also enjoys our garden.

To have him described as being “like a Tasmanian Devil” is an insult to his gentle demeanour. We’ve never had a problem with this dog; he’s obedient and obviously well trained by a very responsible owner.
