Free-for-all is cheaper

• CONSIDERING that Betty Harris is an ex-teacher, it is particularly mean of her to begrudge the large numbers of children who will benefit from the free meals which she must know will enhance their learning (Are free meals fair? September 10). 

Is the wonderful new government she supports supposed to sort out the odd rich person’s children, like those of Boris Johnson, at great expense in order to deprive them of the same benefit? 

I don’t think they’d be willing to do that as they contemplate drastic cuts to services.
