Councillor who was a friend to all

• I WAS saddened to learn of the passing of Councillor David Horan.
I have had the grace of meeting Dave on many an occasion.
He had often held many “unofficial” surgeries where he could talk freely among his constituents and others who would express their woes and concerns, then they would happily listen and converse.
These surgeries were often within the pubs of Camden.
Here he was among his chosen hubs of the community where he could be with, listen, learn and advise the community in the surroundings that they often felt comfortable to talk within.
During these “impromptu” surgeries people understood Dave as “one of us”.
Cllr Horan became a friend to all.
I found Dave to be a great listener and he was a comfort to communicate with and to approach on whichever local issues were relevant at the time. He was a very understanding man and he often referred to history and politics, astounding me with his knowledge. Dave was often going out of his way to meet those who were troubled.
There are many people and businesses in the London Borough of Camden whom Cllr Horan has either helped or else they will know of others that he had helped.
David Horan will be sorely missed.
May he rest in peace.
