We need a little peace

• I WAS totally shocked to hear that Councillor Heather Johnson (Bold vision for Regent’s Place revealed, September 23) thinks that the area is quiet, and expects it to be more lively at night.
She expects an extra tranche of housing would bring more people into the area, with restaurants and bars following when the development is completed.
People like myself living next to this development suffer noise nuisance most days.
I constantly suffer from the daytime noise and dust that British Land causes with its diggers.
Then there is the noise from traffic and the drug addicts who frequent this area.
The prospect of having more noise at night is not good for my ears.
Had people on Regent’s Park estate and surrounding areas been given a say at the planning stage of the development, it would never have been allowed to go ahead.
But we never get a say when it comes to big business.
We need true representation at a political level for our views to be fairly heard.
Too many decisions are being made by people who do not even live in the Regent’s Park area.
These people will not be the ones suffering at the end of the day.
