Stop NHS double talk
Published: 8 October, 2010
FOLLOWING a Defend the Whittington meeting on September 16, it was apparent that the public simply do not trust what government groups say regarding the NHS.
There needs to be honest, open consultation with the public on plans for the NHS. Also, the language used should be simple and honest; no double-edged, managerial terminology. What on earth does “Liberating the NHS” actually mean? Liberating from what... or whom?
We are sick of being fed evasively worded plans, which have cost millions of pounds to prepare, only to have them dropped once the public becomes aware of the real intentions.
What a waste of money! The government should be aware that a lot of people are ready to demonstrate to stop privatisation by stealth – or any other means – of the NHS.
