Recycling example

• I READ with concern your article, Another fines mess, claims businessman (October 8).

While I cannot comment on the other businesses involved, I do know that Hak Huseyin, owner of Absolute Print in Archway, has set an excellent example to businesses in Islington with regard to recycling a significant percentage of his waste.

As project officer for Islington Chamber of Commerce’s business waste recycling project, I am keen to ensure that other businesses are not fined unnecessarily.

I have therefore contacted Islington Council’s street environment services team to examine ways in which we can work together to reduce the chances of this problem recurring.

Other businesses in Islington worried about being fined can contact the business waste recycling project by calling 020 7527 3568 or emailing cmatheson@islchamber.org.uk to gain free, independent, no-obligation information on a wide range of waste collection services.
