Let’s fight ‘fair’ cuts

• CONGRATS to the correspondents who highlighted the fightback against brutal cuts in social services (As Con-Dem cuts bite, it’s up to everyone to join fight, September 17). As tenant activists, we are particularly worried about what is likely to happen to housing benefit, which many rely on just to secure the basic human right of maintaining a roof over their heads. 

We are united in calling not for “fair” cuts but for no cuts. 

As an affiliate of Islington – Hands Off Our Public Services, we urge Tribune readers to attend the launch of that organisation at Archway Methodist Church at 8pm on Tuesday. It’s right to fight!
