Insurance!

• LONDON firefighters are taking strike action as they face the sack if they don’t agree to change their contracts.

Firefighters are committed to a negotiated settlement. They oppose management’s plans as they are detrimental to them, but crucially it will lead to cuts to night-time fire cover. Twice as many people die in fires at night as they do in the day.

The fire service is everyone’s insurance policy.

Every household pays £54 a year for this insurance policy.

Firefighters are first on scene at a vast range of emergencies. Any penny you save by cutting your fire service will result in a greater rise in your insurance premiums.

Why rob Peter to pay Paul twice over?

Not only is it dangerous but it is economic madness.

We ask working people in Camden to support us: we are fighting to save your service.
