Flawed inquiry into child porn

Published: 28 October, 2010

• I WOULD like to thank the New Journal and Jamie Welham for the report (Expert reveals ‘flaws’ in child porn inquiry, October 21).

This so very, very valuably detailed the failings and shortcomings that led to this police /Crown Prosecution case being thrown out of court.

Sadly this did not happen until after the victim of the prosecution Chris Singam had suffered enormously from expressions of popular resentment from those who clearly could not even await the outcome of due process.

As I read the report it also occurred to me that I’d seen no media reports in the national press about the outcome of this incredibly badly flawed case – the more reason again to thank the New Journal for  its efforts.
