Beware of the dog as a weapon

• WE are lucky enough not to have natural predators in this country but apparently stupid enough to have allowed their introduction (your front page story, October 1).

The menace of people threatening others with animals capable of ripping a child’s face off will only go away when those people wielding these lethal creatures face the same sanctions as those waving guns or knives about.

Where are the health and safety and law and order fanatics when we need them?
