Wheelchairs on the Heath
Published: 4th November, 2010
• I WAS interested in the talk Sir Nicholas Kenyon gave to the Heath management (October 21).
Paths which are suitable for cyclists are also suitable for wheelchairs.
At present only a few parts of the Heath are accessible to wheelchairs – those which have tarmacked paths.
Annoyingly, these run on for a while, then suddenly change to loose stones, which are impassable by wheelchairs.
Kingsley Organisation has tried to get the Heath management to put down an accessible route round the Heath, or at least from north to south, but so far we have been turned down.
