What a waste

• YOU report (Sports cuts will hit kids, November 11) that thousands of Camden’s kids will be denied free sport and exercise when the government grant of £380,000 is withdrawn to save money.

Insult is now being added to injury. Camden’s housing department is currently in the process of making available a government grant to a private firm. They are making available up to £30,000 for each of nine estates (£270,000). 

This work by a private company will consist of planting flowers, creating fruit orchards and carrying out unneeded landscaping.

What a profligate and inconsiderate waste of our tax money during these tough times.

How bizarre to sacrifice the health and wellbeing of Camden’s youth in this way.

Something needs to be done about this unjustified waste!
