Unfortunate

• HOW unfortunate that our otherwise delightful and clever council leader should let slip his dismay that we have a free press: “It is unfortunate that the press in this country does have a certain degree of independence...” (Colin Barrow, Xtra Diary, November 5).

If Cllr Barrow would prefer to live somewhere without a free press he should consider North Korea or maybe Somalia. 

In the meantime he will have to content himself with trying to limit the peasants in his own fiefdom to the scintillating read which is the Westminster Reporter.
