Roundhouse volunteers

Published: 18 November, 2010

• IN your music section (November 11) you kindly referred to my working as a volunteer at the Roundhouse during the Zappa festival.

Whenever there is a performance the majority of ushers are volunteers from Camden, helping to keep the venue running smoothly and ensure visitors have a great night.

Not only that but they save the venue £120,000 a year which is, instead, invested in youth projects through the Roundhouse Trust.

I’m delighted to be supporting the trust, which works with young people giving them confidence and life skills through the arts.

I’d encourage anyone with free time to sign up to be a volunteer.

Not only will you get a chance to spend time in our most magnificent live venue but you’ll also be helping young people throughout London. Drop me a line if you are interested: mayor@camden.gov.uk
