Power to the royals

• THE Crown Estate should be handed back to the Queen in its entirety.

Rather than having to rely on carping politicians and being sneered at by those who oppose the monarchy, they should be fully independent and free to live like the first family of the realm should. 

If the Queen really has no power to influence parliament, that’s a great pity; I would rather trust her judgment than that of David Cameron, Ed Miliband, Nick Clegg et al. 

It is my firm belief that if the royal family was more powerful and independent, Britain would be too.

Short live the republic!
