Lost letter delivered

• SOMEBODY came to my door the other day with a letter correctly addressed to me but wrongly delivered to his address. 

He told me the letter had been “lying there for some time”. On opening the letter, it was dated March 2008! And it was, in fact a lost letter containing photographs and had caused a lot of distress when it went missing.

The envelope had a return address printed on the back and could easily have been put back in the letter box. I do not understand how anyone could keep a letter for two years and more. It just seems incredible.

My conscience wouldn’t have allowed me to keep a misdirected letter for even a day. What a cold, nasty, selfish society we live in.
