By-election thanks
Published: 4th November, 2010
• MY warmest thanks to the voters of Kentish Town ward for electing me to represent them on Camden Council.
The result was unequivocal. I gained 53 per cent of the votes, clear-cut evidence of the strength of support for Labour in Kentish Town.
A big thank you, too, to all our Labour members and supporters who campaigned so enthusiastically over the past few weeks. I now look forward to working hard for the benefit of local people with Meric Apak and Georgia Gould, my Kentish Town ward colleagues and with all Camden Labour councillors.
Cllr Jenny Headlam-Wells
Labour, Kentish Town ward
Bravo!
• BRAVO to Councillor Jenny Headlam-Wells for her spectacular win on Thursday, in a ward which had three Liberal Democrat councillors less than a year ago.
The result is a clear message from residents in Camden that they want representatives from a political party with values and not from a party that slashes local government budgets to the point where Camdeners suffer as police jobs are threatened, SureStart centres are at risk and community centres potentially face “condem” closures.
Jenny will help Camden stand strong against these unfair and unnecessary cuts.
Cllr Tulip Siddiq
Labour, Regent’s Park ward
