Church unfair

• MEMBERS of the London West End Women’s Institute would like to express their dismay at the decision of the parochial church council of St Anne’s effectively to evict the Soho Society by increasing the rent to West End market value.

The Soho Society is not a commercial enterprise but a community group run by volunteers with the aim of protecting Soho’s unique character and supporting the local community. 

The church council’s actions are destructive, unfair and short-sighted and risks losing the respect and goodwill of other communities in the West End.
