Cast light on our towpath darkness

Published: 11 November, 2010

• I AM writing to you about the lack of maintenance of towpath lighting. At Primrose Hill, lights  situated under bridges on a very busy part of the towpath have been out since March. Calls to British Waterways have gone unanswered. Nothing has been done, despite a letter written by the local police to BW.

At the moment the lack of these lights puts people in danger as the rest of the towpath in this area is well lit. Mums with children are having to use what is at the least a health and safety problem and at worst a perfect haven for muggers.

It seems such  a waste when money has been invested in a well-lit area, for BW to then not pay the smaller amount of money to maintain this facility.
