Back to the Tories’ agenda
Published: 11 November, 2010
• THE Conservative party are once again in government, and they appear to be hell-bent on carrying on with Margaret Thatcher’s agenda, by selling off our public services, attacking the unemployed, and those who are living on state benefits.
Unemployed people will be forced to undertake unpaid work in the community, and if they don’t, they will have their benefits stopped or cut to the bone.
May I remind Iain Duncan Smith, who has instigated this move as work and pensions secretary, that the British courts already place criminals on community work orders.
Will the Lib-Con coalition force unemployed people to do unpaid work, and so treat them as criminals as well?
As it is we have a new twist to the Tory agenda, and that is that those who can’t afford to live in London will be forced out of their homes and placed in ghettos in other parts of the UK.
People living in central London, and claiming housing benefit or living off poverty wages, may be forced to leave their homes.
There can be no doubt that Thatcher’s agenda to starve the poor, to feed the rich, is still on the table!
