RAJ CHADA
People were adamant that they did not want a Conservative
government and would do whatever they could do to stop that. It’s clear Cleggmania didn’t happen here because people knew all about the Lib Dems and their policies already and weren’t impressed by them. People were clear in this election that they want public services to be protected. What Labour must now do in Camden and in London is stick to it’s Labour principles and wherever possible protect those services from the cuts likely to come from central government. We will have to listen to the residents and take on board their concerns and stand up for them.
• Raj Chada is a former leader of Camden Council
