Water waste on High Street
Published: 20 May, 2010
• THREE weeks ago a friend and I went to a café on the Camden High Street and we noticed water coming out of the road not too fast. We thought someone must have reported it.
The following week the water was still coming out of the road so I called Thames Water and they said it had been reported but they were waiting for the council to give them a permit to fix the leak.
Then last week my friend and I went to the same café and – guess what – it was still leaking. In three weeks since we first noticed the leak many thousands and thousands of gallons of precious water has been wasted which many poorer countries are desperate for.
My question is how long does it take for Camden Council to give out a permit to fix water leaks?
