Repairs disgrace right on the Town Hall’s doorstep

Published: 28 May, 2010

• FOLLOWING my letter about the unnecessary re-paving of Upper Street and the town hall (Floored by such waste, April 2), I notice that major repairs are already being carried out on the latter.
What a disgrace. One can only wonder whatever happened to the practice of quality control in this borough. No wonder so many tenants and leaseholders are up in arms about the quality of work carried out by the borough’s selected ‘cartel’ of six building companies when the council can’t even get its own home paved properly.
