Lessons

• NOW that the Labour Party are back running the council they must show they have learned the lesson of listening to the voice of their voters.
I was worried about the Labour Party for many years. Now they must stick to what they said before the election. Frank Dobson made a great speech. But the Liberal Democrats have done a lot of damage to the borough’s housing and it must never be allowed to happen again.
Labour are saying that there will be no more selling-off of council housing stock.

But when they were in power, the Labour Party did not do enough regarding the sale of council flats.
How come a person can own four council homes? Labour should have the guts to admit the mistakes they have made.
Also, the so-called estate offices need to be sorted out. Tenants’ phone bills have gone sky-high since they have to ring the Town Hall rather than the estate office.
Also the Labour Party  needs to wake up and think of young people who are getting married but can’t get a flat to live in.
