Indifference

• YOUR article on “littering pupils” sums up the seemingly intractable problem of seas of offensive litter left by local schoolchildren on Parliament Hill Fields during a fine weekday, involving the Heath authority in heavy expense.
Representatives of local organisations and Heath users are met with indifference by the pupils and by a lack of response from the school authorities.
The headteacher of William Ellis School does at least admit that boys from his school are partially responsible for this ghastly mess, but it needs a concerted effort by all from La Swap schools to address the problem resolutely.
Let us hope that your article will stir them to do so.
